Prague: a city that has won my heart
Hello you all, I would like to talk about Prague, a city that has won my heart. Prague is a city with a glorious past and a bright future, Prague is born with the vocation of capital - both political and cultural - and remained so for centuries.
The main center of the kingdom of Bohemia and first capital of the Holy Roman Empire then, Prague has led the country with authority in both the period of unity after the split with Slovakia. The strategic location has placed it since ancient times to the center of a network of trade in goods and ideas that have enriched the city created a particular culture, an unusual mix of different instances of religious, philosophical and artistic. Prague is unique, but with so many different faces and a strong character, as evidenced by its neighborhoods (Hradcany, Mala Strana, Stare Mesto, Nove Mesto), which rest around knowing that up until the late eighteenth century towns were mutually independent. Prague is the birthplace of artists and scenery of the most important works: think of the Don Giovanni of Mozart or Goethe's Faust or the stories of Franz Kafka. Prague is the city of "socialism with a human face" during the Cold War was halted only by Russian tanks, but is also the scene of the "Velvet Revolution" that brought the country out of communism and opened with a flurry of freedom of the city gates.
Three days in Prague (I have just spent three days in Prague and I highly recommend them)
Prague is a city that lends itself to very long walks and so you should bring your walking shoes and deal his way. Three days is a sufficient minimum to visit the main sights of Prague. If you have more time at your disposal, you can leave the tourist track and see the other in this magical city. If possible, extend your stay for a few days so they can get out of Prague and visit some wonderful places of the Czech Republic offers.
The main tourist areas of Prague are separated by the Vltava. On the left bank of the village are the Castle and Lesser Town. On the left bank are instead the Old Town, Jewish Quarter and New Town. Over the Vltava lies the beautiful Charles Bridge that connects the Old Town and Lesser Town.
The nightlife in Prague is very intense and everyone can find something that will work for them. Dance the night away in one of the many bars or clubs in Prague, a cocktail or a beer in a bar, live music of all kinds ... Below is an example of what Prague offers to tourists:
- Duplex (Prague) - Popular club is open Wednesday - Saturday. Mick Jagger celebrated his 60th birthday here.
- Klub Lávka (Prague) - Tequila bar, music from the '60s to today.
- Malostranská Beseda (Prague) - Music clubs and bars. Rock, jazz, blues, country, folk.
- Agharta (Prague) - A few minutes from Old Town Square. Live music every evening from 21.00 to midnight, jazz club & bar daily 6:00p.m. to 1:00 a.m., jazz shop open 24 hours with a wide range of jazz music.
In what area to stay in Prague :
There are four main areas to stay in Prague city : Old Town, New Town, Lower Town and the area aound the castle.
Prague Old Town stretches around the Old Town Square and is home to 5-star hotel to hostels. It has the advantage of being just a few minutes walk from the main tourist attractions. The drawback is parking, higher prices and the noise.
Prague New Town is outside the Old Town and near Wenceslas Square where most of the hotels are located . The prices here are more accessible, but it is often necessary to use public transport, especially in outer areas.
Prague LowerTown is the area at the base of the castle and its main thoroughfare is full of hotels . But hotels here are very very expensive, because they are attached to the castle.
On the outskirts of the facilities are numerous, but very modern and picturesque, and the price is as high as in down town. I hope I didn't miss anything about this wonderful city , Prague!
