Bed bug treatment

Bed bugs are small nocturnal insect (of the family Cimicidae) that live feeding on warm-blooded hosts like the blood of humans: this is the reason why you can find them in your bed. Moreover they are active mostly at night because they are nocturnal animals!  Normally you can find these insects in human inhabited environments all over the world. Normally you can get bed bugs through contacts with infested furniture in places of temporary accommodation like hotels and motels.

Bed bugs have a reddish-brown color and may grow to the size of 4-7mm so they are visible and easy to spot thanks to their slow movements. A bed bug's bite is not dangerous but it is annoying because it cause skin irritation and it looks like a flat welt or a  red bump.

If you find out that you have bed bugs  do not start sleeping in a different bed because the bud bugs may follow you to the new location and therefore contaminate another area and you have to make sure to wash everything in hot water and dry on hot for one to two hours. You will have to  seek help from a professional.

How to kill bed bugs:

The most common way to kill bed bugs is to use Diatomaceous Earth called also Silicone Dioxide or ChemFree Insect Killer because it is able to kill insects by dehydrating them. You can buy  Diatomaceous Earth in every pet feed store and it is 100% safe, chemical free, all natural and it is also very cheap. You should put  Diatomaceous in the follow areas: under your mattress, along the baseboards in your place,  under all your furniture and on your bed frame.
A mixture of steam treatment and insecticide with d-Phenothrin mixed in is the method used  by pest control companies. D-phenothrin s a non-systemic insecticide that is used for the control of nuisance insects like bed bugs because it has a  stomach poison effective by contact.

Another method to kill these bed bugs is the steam treatment that is able to  eliminate all stages of the bed bug because these insects are very sensitive to heat and can be rapidly killed if are exposed to temperatures over 45°C. Researches  have demonstrated that steam treatment is not able to eliminate all bedbugs so the best solution will be to use steam treatment followed by insecticides. You should start steaming from  the mattress and you should treat also the seams, labels and any other attachments. Then you can move ti the chairs and sofa, cushions, seams and buttons. But remember that you should be  as close to the bugs as possible, just a few centimeters!
