Steam cooker: healthy and easy!
Steam cookers are becoming more and more popular thanks to their benefits. Steaming is also a quick way to cook foods and your food will have less time to lose important vitamins and nutrients! Steaming is able to retain more of the essential vitamins and nutrients that your body need that normally are loosed during the cooking process. Another benefit of steam cooker is that you don't have to add any fatty oils and moreover it is more difficult to overcook your food! You can cook vegetables but also fish, shellfish, crab, rice and even meats.
The market offers different kind of food steamers:
ELECTRIC FOOD STEAMERS: these are the quickest method of steaming: they are able to boil water in 30 seconds and are really practice because you will just have to add water, food, turn it on and walk away! There are also available in different size: starting from a single tier to two -three- and four tiers. Based on my experience I suggest you to put the food that needs the most steaming at the bottom and at the top the food that needs the least steaming. This kind of steamers are the most expensive but really useful if you do a lot of steaming.
STOVE TOP STEAMERS: These stoves are available in different shapes and sizes and have to be insert into a pot leaving room for water in the bottom. Stove top steamers are indicated if you are going to cook vegetables.

MICROWAVE STEAMERS: this is the least practiced way to steam and it is best for single and couple that don't use a high amount of steaming.
BAMBOO STEAMERS: these are normally indicated for cooking Asian food but in reality they can be used to cook everything! They have to be used with a wok or a pot. Bamboo steamers are difficult to clean and have to be stored in a cool and dry place. This way of cooking is indicated for the people that have time to clean and care for the bamboo and for the people that are looking for a natural way to cook.
