Love your pet? Choose the perfect cage for him
Maybe not all of you know about or interested into dog cages, unless, of course, you own, have owned or know someone who owns a god, I assume. Still, I am here today to talk about dog cages.
I own a pet shop and I have a few tips for the one of you who are thinking about buying a dog cage or have to buy it and don’t know how to choose one or which are the best dog cages stores ( I am rowing against my business, but I live in a little town in northern UK and, unless you are extremely adventurous, I don’t think you’ll be travelling from around the world, only to come buy a good dog cage in my small little village, are you? ). So , let’s now talk about dog cages and the differences between one another , both in dimensions and material they are made of.
The first aspect one should keep in mind when purchasing a dog cage, is the use one will make of it , meaning , weather one will have to use it very often or only once a while. This aspect will determine the type of material and the price of your dog cage. If you need to use your dog cage very often , you will more likely need a resistant dog cage and this means the cost would be greater than a more common dog cage. If you will use your dog cage only a few times a year, ( only when taking your pet to the vet) you might as well just buy a fairly cheap dog cage (that still will last long, considering the poor use you will make of it).
The second very important aspect in your dog cages purchase decision, is to identify the best size for your pet. Many pet owners tend to buy dog cages that are the same size of their animal, meaning that the dog fits in just fin but has no room to move. But I advise you to take a cage a little wider, so that the dog does not feel forced or suffocate.
We can now get to the heart of dog cages.
There are three main dog cage types :
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| The soft kind, perfect to to crate train your pet while providing him a portable home. They are great for camping as well. The average cost is around £ 30, and it comes in all sizes | The End Table Pet Crate dog cage type, not really a dog cage but it looks like it , it is usually made of wood and one keeps it in the house. It provides your dog a comfortable place to sleep in and feeling protected. It is waterproof and eliminates the absorption of liquids and odors | The more common dog cage. The most comfortable dog carrier, you might use to take your dog somewhere. You can find, as I mentioned before, many different types of them. The cheapest one is the plain steel type. Prices (depending on the size) start from £ 40 up to £ 120 , more or less. Or you could buy a more expensive standard dog cage together with all the accessories , as for instance the dog cage cover (which will cost you 30% more) |
Finally, my last tip is where to find best deals: on the web of course! Amazon ‘s best !
