First of all you should know that an electric shower needs its own separate electrical feed and it could be fitted in 99% of showers, the only limit is that the incoming cold water pressure is OK.

When you are going to buy an electric shower you should really pay attention about kilo watts and the size of the shower. This kind of shower required a special cable for the installation that depends on the KW.

• 8.5Kw =  6mm/40amp mcb
• 9.5Kw = 10mm/45amp mcb 
• 10.5Kw =10mm/45amp mcb

It is really important that you select the correct camble and if you have doubts please contact a qualified electrician able to carry out the electrical installation work, also because not fitted correctly, electric showers can be dangerous if not lethal. Only if you have a good knowledge of electrics you can fit your shower. If you are going to replace your electric shower please, if you don't want extra expense, replace the shower like to like. It is also important, to prevent damage to the electrical components, to turn off whenever the shower is not in use and moreover do not touch the circuit breaker of the shower while the water is running!
