Dont' fear dental implants!

I completely freaked out when my dentist first told me I was going to have to get installed 4 dental implants, not only for the cost they would have but also because I am a very hypochondriac person and I'd rather stay 1 month without food than having any sort of surgery done on my body. I think I have never been so scared in my entire life up to that moment. But my dentist immediately reassured me on the conduct of the dental implant surgery . He explained to me that it would be completely painless and if in any case I would feel the least pain he would instantly practice another anesthetic injection . He also proceeded to better explain to me what exactly dental implants , the way they work and mostly , the differences between dental implant types.

To began with, let me tell you ( for the ones that don't know what a dental implant is) what a dental implant is . A dental implant is an alternative to dentures and at times they completely replace the entire denture. Some (as me) could be scared of this but really you don't have to . Modern techniques have made dental implants even more beautiful than our original teeth. For those who are missing multiple teeth, implants could be considered a great alternative to fix the appearance of missing teeth , without having to apply crowns and bridges. Also, it is very important to know how they get installed and the material used (the type of material used make the difference in prices).

It usually takes two steps to complete a dental implant installation:

  1. a local anesthesia is done on the patient in order to get him more comfortable with the dental implant process. Now the implant will be placed in the jawbone for 3/5 months while osseointegration is held . This will ensure a perfect foundation for the tooth replacement. Meanwhile a bridge will be installed.
  2. attach the new tooth to the implant in your jaw.

Now, talking about the price (one of my greatest concern when I first was told I would have to get installed a dental implant) it really depends on the dentist's honesty and of course on the dental implant material. Cheapest dental implants are made out of monomer, but not everyone could have that installed because it could cause allergies. An average cost material is pure titanium or stainless still based dental implant. The most expensive one is the white zirconium which is esthetically the best looking one because it looks just alike a normal tooth.

Now that my dentist explained me all the different aspect about dental implants I have to admit I feel much more comfortable with the upcoming surgery I will have to get done. Thanks to all for reading me.
