Diving masks

A diving Mask is the most important item that you need for diving! Thanks to a tempered glass plate in front of the eyes you can see clearly underwater because it provides an air space that enable you to open your eyes underwater! Sometimes snorkel and swim fins are sold in conjunction with masks. If you need your mask for a casual use you can decide to buy a low quality mask that has a plastic or low-quality glass face place. I will not recommend masks with snorkel built in because could be hazardous.

You should choose a mask that fit your face perfectly... and a mask test can help you! Without using straps, you should place the mask on your face and inhale through the noise: if the air doesn't get in and the mask stays in place on your face without help... it is the right mask for you!

Before a diving you should spit into the mask to prevent fogging up due to condensation. After you should wipe the spite around the inside of the mask's plate and wash it out. As alternative you can decide to use commercial products. After diving you should clean your mask with fresh water and dried off after washing. You should not leave your mask in direct sunlight because it can degrades the silicon. If you do all these things your mask will last for many years!

If you have some visual problem you can fit your prescription lenses inside the glass plate to correct your visual.

On the market exist different kind of masks. The older diving masks had just one big window, a single pane of glass. Now a days you can find masks with two windows, one window for each eye called also “low-volume mask". But you can also find masks with complex designs for provide extra features. For example with a double-dome mask you will have a wider field of view or with a "Data Mask", that is also really expensive, you will have a LCD display built in it which can display various dive and breathing set conditions.
