Timberland: responsibility to preserve our natural resources.
Established in 1955 as the Abington Shoe Company, in 1978 became The Timberland Company. We are not surprised that a company that has a tree as logo spends a lot of time in the forest and his very commitment to environmental stewardship extends. Timberland strategies are designed to keep this brand competitive: Timberland looks for the right combination of quality, speed to market, innovation, cost, and workplace conditions. Timberland has a comprehensive set of programs and policies dedicated to the elimination of their carbon footprint and for create an accountable, sustainable enterprise.
In 2007, on the CNN Money "One hundred best companies to work for" list., Timberland was named the 78th best employer in the US.
Timberland has also created a Long Term Strategy 2008-2015 , with clearly articulated social and environmental goals:
- Focus on Energy: Become carbon neutral by 2010 and beyond
- Focus on Product: Design Recyclable Product
- Focus on Workplaces: Fair, Safe and Non-Discriminatory Workplaces
- Focus on Service: Community Greening Service Campaign
Timberland also participates in the Path of Service program: this program gives employees 40 hours of paid time-off to serve in their communities, and also gives thirty employees two to three weeks a year to aid in disaster/environmental relief initiatives.
For me Timberland shoes are the best shoes available. In particular, I am speaking about the winter leather boots. I found myself really well: are comfortable, protect your foot from cold as no other boot and are also beautiful to see.

Timberland is also famous for building boots with the durable long-lasting quality she is famous for and for the premium waterproof leather. The leather should be treated with special products to prevent the skin damaged but many people prefer to 'consume' it. Regarding the cost, this is around 110£. Moreover when a boot is made of recyclable and renewable materials, bound by water-based adhesives, manufactured with energy generated by wind and sun, transported by green freight and sold in 100% recyclable packaging …. it is a really pleasure to wear these boots!
TIMBERLAND FOREVER!
