My experience in choosing a baby car seat

When I first started looking for my baby car seat I asked myself which of the many car seats could be the best one on the market. After looking for it for a while I realized that the truth is that the baby best car seats are the ones that fit our vehicle, our budget, our baby and that one will use properly each time we baby ride in the car.
In order to determine which car seat was the best choice for my baby I first read up on this matter and then decided to adopt the following criteria: 

On safety

All baby car seats must have passed the same federal crash tests. For an easier installation , some baby car seats may have extra peculiarities, such as non-twisting straps or built-in locking clips. Also, an easy installation is key in car seat safety, that's why some baby car seats have installation helpers that bring stronger safety to the car seat itself. However, even the cheapest baby car seat has to have passed the basic crash tests and has to be safe for our baby when installed . 

Does our baby car seats fit our baby?

Your baby's weight , height and age are important factors when deciding the type of baby car seat to buy. Rear-facing baby car seats can be used until your child is at least one year old and weighs at least twenty five lbs. Height wise, when rear-facing,  baby's head should be greater than one inch below the top of the car seat. Also, for front-facing seats, the highest part of baby's ears should be positioned under the top of the car seat.

Installing our baby car seats

Buying the most expensive baby car seat does not mean it’s automatically safe for your baby that's why it's advisable to read the installation directions before buying it. Make sure you check the baby car seat handbook to be sure you can set it in the correct way. In order to adjust the harness to secure baby in the car seat male sure you choose a car seat that you will use according to the instructions.

Does our baby car seat fit our vehicle?

Due to the many varieties of car seat styles, not all baby car seats will fit in every vehicle. It is vital to find a baby car seat that can be installed firmly and with the proper angle. I realized that most reputable baby products stores will let you take a baby car seat floor model to your vehicle to check the fit before purchase. If this is not possible, check the return policy to check if you can return the baby car seat in case it doesn't suit your car .

Baby car seats accessories

When choosing a baby car seat, I suggest to bypass all accessories and manual details. If an item doesn’t come with the baby car seat, it's not safe to use it with the baby car seat. One last advice, make sure you control that all baby car seat products are crash-tested with each car seat and could cause injury during a crash ( including head positioning device).
