Baby Slings… good idea!
A baby sling is a simple piece of cloth that support an infant from a carer's body. Baby slings has been used for centuries around the world. The use of a baby sling is called babywearing, a special and easy form of baby transportation. Forget the stroller, with a baby sling you life will be easier and you will not worry about ties, snaps and buckles. For example you will be able to use easily the public transportation, go down/up the stairs, wash up, cook and iron rocking your baby!
The market offers very different types of baby slings:

| Baby slings that use dynamic tension where one end of the cloth is sewn to two rings, called Ring Slings. | Cloth, long between 2 to 6 meters, which are wrapped around both the baby and the parent and then tied, called Wraparound slings. | Slings without any rings or hardware, called Ring-less slings, formed by a wide piece of fabri |
Moreover recent studies demonstrate that a baby in a sling is as safe as a baby in arms!
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has published some advises for parent who have babies younger than four months of age, when using infant slings The Commission recommends that parents make sure that the infant’s face is not covered and is visible at all times to the sling’s wearer otherwise the infant could risk to suffocate. Dr Lois Balster, a pediatrician, defines slings “wonderful parenting tools when used properly and safely” and highlight that “using a sling incorrectly is not unlike using an infant car seat without proper installation, infant positioning, and restraints. It is always important to position your baby safely in any carrier or infant-carrying device."

The nonprofit organization “babywearing international” give us some important guidelines to remember when wearing an infant:
- Check to ensure that your baby is not curled up tightly in a chin-to-chest position; this compresses your baby's airway.
- Making sure there is a fingers' width or two between their chin and chest is a good guide.
- Make sure your baby's back is straight and supported.
- Monitoring your child at all times. Make sure nothing is obstructing their face.
- Be aware of how your movements affect the baby: avoid any bumping or jarring motions.
Paradoxically I found many difficulties in finding a baby sling in a shop, and at the end I found out that the easier and affordable way to buy a baby sling was on internet. On internet you can find a wide range of types of babywearing at the best price!
