A birthday card is a folded card containing an expression of friendship or other sentiment. The market offers a wide range of choices: you can find mass-produced card, as well as handmade versions that are distributed by hundreds of companies.

The different types of greetings card that we can find are:

The first greeting card appeared in Europe in the early 1400s but the use of sending greeting cards can be traced back to the ancient Chinese, and to the early Egyptians. The tradition of sending birthday card spread in England only last century. Since 1990, the internet era, the habit of sending birthday cards increased considerably due to the creation of the e-cards: an instant and free of charge way to exchange greetings!

In my opinion a greeting card is essential when giving a gift: a present without a greeting card is lacking in sentiment because it gives a personal touch at your gift. We live in a society where no more attention is given to the “small thing”.... but we forget that small things make moments unforgettable and durable over the time. A present is perishable through the time... but a greeting card will remain forever giving you the chance to make a journey in the past every time you read it!
