The right buggy for your baby

Travelling with a baby has to be as much comfortable as possible for both kids and parents, that's why it is important to choose the right buggy.

When my husband and I got to the shop we got surprised about the number of different buggies and optionals you can have today!
I remember the old buggy my Mom used for me and my brother when we were children...and it has nothing to do with these high standard design buggies you find today.
Depending on your needs and lifestyle you can buy buggies suitable for jogging, running or even biking!

Here you have some examples:

  • Lightweight Buggies: they have many of the features of large strollers, such as reclining seat, storage basket and sun shade but are under 20 pounds.
  • Standard Buggies: they have roomier seats and larger wheels than lightweight strollers. Good performance in all conditions but they are heavier and take more trunk space.
  • Jogging Buggies: not recommended for kids under 6 months. They perform well in each condition and are ideal for parents that do sport and travel a lot.
  • Travel Systems: this include a standard stroller with a car seat base, so that it makes it easier to move babies from car to buggy.

After you have choosen the right one for your needs, I think that the main features to take into account before purchasing are comfort and safety.
I suggest to have a short walk with your stroller across the shop in order to check the height of handles, stability of the wheels  or storage space in the back.
Of course do not forget to check the safety features of the buggy such as stability, safety belts (make sure that are easy to wear and fit properly on your baby) and wheel locks as safety is the main concern when you have kids.

Finally just check how your baby fits in each buggy. You can then choose the one where your baby looks happier :)
