Daddy, I would like a GBA!
When my son asked me to buy him a Game boy Advance as a present, I couldn't imagine how many kinds of it there were!
I used to play computer when I was a young boy, but nowadays games are far more technological and interactive than they were years ago. When I came into the shop I had to ask for info, because I didn't know that there were a lot of versions of the same item.
The shop assistant explained me that the Game boy Advance, which I was interested in, was the successor to the Game boy Color, and that Game boy Micro had appeared almost in the same years. Gathering info about that item I found out that the Game Boy Advance is named in short by teenagers "GBA". It is a 32-bit handled video game console, developed, manufactured and marketed by Nintendo and released in Japan, North America, Australia and Europe in 2001. It allows standard games-playing to be played "in the palm of your hand". Game Boy Advance (model AGS-001) was introduced in early 2003 by Nintendo; it is like a pocket-size laptop with an internal front-light that can be turned on or off and it has a rechargeable lithium ion battery.
In September 2005, Nintendo released a second redesign of the Game Boy Advance, similar in style to the original Game Boy Advance's horizontal orientation, but much smaller and sleeker. The Game Boy Advance has become a popular system for old-school gamers due to the increasing number of games ported from various 8-bit and 16-bit systems of the previous eras, including the popular Super Mario Advance series. I thought that could be a great chance for me to start to play again, for I had been a fans of Super Mario when I was young!
Together with Game Boy Advance I decided to buy some add-ons, such as a wireless adapter, a suitable cable and the new e-reader, that is a bulky scanning device that plugs into the game cartridge slot of the Game Boy Advance. Moreover, I bought a cleaning cartridge with a soft cloth inside so that it cleans the connectors of the Game Boy Advance when inserted. I couldn't chose among all different colors: arctic, black, fuchsia, glacier, indigo, red, platinum. Finally I decided to buy a classic glacier Game Boy. My son was enthusiastic!
I started to exercise games and I discovered that I hadn't lost my ability in games!
I felt a young boy again!
