Chosing the right pair of glasses is very important for your everyday comfort
It is now a long time since the day I started using glasses and the idea of wearing them during the day it is actually very familiar to me. However, it has not always been so easy, because I have made many experiences (not all good, this must be told) before well understand my exact requirements.
The choice of glasses is in fact very important and I suggest that you evaluate very carefully all factors affecting your decision.
The first factor that may affect your choice is the selection of the glasses’ frame. Notwithstanding the choice of glasses is very personal and it is related to individual preferences, do not forget that the frame of the glasses should be harmonized with your facial characteristics. My first advice is that you choose a frame that matches the colour of your hair and the shape of your face. In addition, a proper glasses frame should provide same dimensions as your visage.Just to give you an example, a large face needs a wide frame whilst a long face requires a deep frame. Therefore, your glasses must not be larger than the widest part of your face. Do not forget that very narrow frames have the effect of showing your eyes very close.
Furthermore, I recommend not choosing a frame that is higher than the line of your eyebrows as well as a frame that provides lower rims resting on your cheeks. Bear in mind that a frame providing a low-placed bridge would be very helpful to make a long nose look smaller. Glasses with a high-placed bridge would help you to make your short nose appear much more important. Another suggestion is that you pay attention to coloured glasses’ bridges because they will make larger eyes seem closer.
If your face is round, without angles and with a perfect proportion between length and width, my advice is that you select glasses with an angular and narrow frame, which will improve the definition of your visage, helping you to make your face look longer and thinner. Oval faces have no problems because the oval shape of the face, which is usually very harmonic and balanced, allows you to choose any shape of glasses frame.
Square faces present a large forehead together with square-jawed features. I recommend that you balance these strong characteristics choosing glasses that provide a frame that is wider than it is long and narrow. Such frames have the capacity of making a face look longer, making the angles of the face softer at the same time.
Then, let’s spend some words about lenses. Depending on the prescription, you can choose plastic lenses, which are considerably lighter and safer than glass lenses; do not forget that plastic lenses scratch very easily. This is the reason why I suggest choosing plastic lenses providing scratch-resistant coatings, which is helpful to reduce the risk of scratching. Another important feature is the anti-reflection coat, which I found very useful, especially in relation to night driving.
Last suggestion, glasses providing UV400 coats are recommended for all people who have cataracts or macular degeneration as they somewhat amend the quality of the vision.
