iRobot Roomba is a revolutionary vacuum cleaner

Between all presents I have recently received for my birthday, the one that I probably appreciate more is the iRobot Roomba. For those who do not yet know this product, iRobot Roomba is a revolutionary vacuum cleaner that, in addition, really catches your eyes as well. In particular, I have received a 530 model, which is equipped with a virtual wall (without batteries) and some spare parts together with the user guide and the instructions’ manual. I have found this appliance very useful and my very traditionalist mother as well is now very satisfied of the easy of use and practicality of the iRobot Roomba.
It is a very user-friendly product as it is all assembled in the package and you may consider it a ready to use appliance because you only need to charge it totally and the work is done. The iRobot Roomba is a disc, 13.4 inches (34 cm) in diameter and less than 3.5 inches (9 cm) high. The disc is equipped with a large contact-sensing bumper, which is set on the front part of the disc, together with the infrared sensor, which is placed on the top front part of the disc.

A handle, which is very helpful to carry the iRobot Roomba, is placed on the upper area of the disc. iRobot Roomba may provide between one and three so called virtual wall, which is a unit transmitting infrared. This feature depends on the different models. On the top of the disc, you will find the control buttons, such as the cleaning button, the block button and the spot button. iRobot Roomba works thanks to the built-in sensor that detects the dust and is able to sense the walls, determining a completely automatic functioning that allows everybody to use it in a very simple way. Basically, you start the appliance by pressing the clean button that pause the iRobot Roomba rather than stop it. The first charge should last about 16 hours but I realized that the disc was fully charged even after two hours of use. This aspect makes me think that the charge could last more than declared.
iRobot Roomba starts moving in a room with a spiral movement that varies as soon as the disc meets the first obstacle. From that moment on, a secret algorithm regulates the movement of the iRobot Roomba. According to Roomba’s statement, this feature allows the disc to maximize the possibilities of covering the whole space to clean.

The duration of the cleaning cycle is determined by the iRobot Roomba and, once finished, a red led turns on to point out that the disc is searching the self-charging home base. When the home base is located, the iRobot Roomba places itself attached to the home base and the recharging process starts. Each 3 or 4 cleaning cycles you must empty the dustbin, which is a very simple and easy operation. In conclusion, I had some doubts about the functionality of the iRobot Roomba but all my doubts have been dispelled since the first time I used it. It is true that iRobot Roomba needs more time to clean a room that a person but it is all time spent by the appliance and not by you. This means that you will have more free time to spend as you prefer instead of cleaning your rooms. It sound interesting, doesn’t it?
