What's your skin type? Discover it with an electric shaver
Choosing the right shaver is a very important decision a man must take to appear always shipshape. Notwithstanding the recent trends, I still consider shaving something that must be done every morning. I do not like those men with a two-three days light beard; they give me the impression of negligence. Therefore, I pay a lot of attention to shaving that I consider my morning ritual. I have been wet shaving for years since I have changed over electric shaving.
If you are bored with shaving foams and blades like me, next step is to choose your new electric shaver that must be suitable for your type of skin and for your style.
At first glance, the electric shaver seems to be more expensive than the traditional shaving system. However, that is not completely true. An electric shaver means indeed a higher purchasing price but you will amortize the cost writing off all the expenses related to shaving foams, blades, razors and shaving brushes.
Once purchased, your electric shaver will be at your disposition any time you would
and there is no need of further purchases. If you are not confident with the razor, the electric shaver is an appropriate choice, in my opinion. It is indeed extremely unlikely cutting yourself using an electric shaver because they are designed having a particular look at our comfort and security. Speed and practicality are the two main characteristics and the electric shaver, once placed on its base, recharges it and it is always ready to use. Most electric shavers provide some heads that allow you to regulate your beard and your sideburns at different lengths as well as the usual shaving. If you have a sensitive skin, the market offers now electric shavers that release a soothing creme, which prepare and soften your skin, to avoid any irritation.
However, my advice is to shower before electric shaving. It will facilitate softening your beard and it will help you shaving in a more accurate and easy way. To do this, I recommend washing your beard with warm water and drying it with a clean face cloth. Do not attempt to shave if your skin is not completely dry, it can be very dangerous.
You can otherwise use a pre-shaving lotion to prepare your beard. When shaving, remember that you should go against the direction of beard growth (unlike it is suggested for the traditional wet shaving) and that this direction may change in different parts of your face. In addition, if you have sensitive skin, my suggestion is that you shave first the most delicate parts and then the tougher zones. This is because some electric shavers may produce heat on their heads, which can irritate the most sensitive areas of your face. Therefore, start shaving the sensitive zones and then the toughest ones will help you to eliminate any risk of irritation. After shaving, I recommend to spread an after-shave lotion rather than a balm that will moisturize your skin.
In conclusion, I consider the electric shaver convenient and economical.
It is convenient because it allows you to shave even if you are totally dressed. I would not try to do that with wet shaving and this feature is very helpful when you are in hurry. Moreover, when I stopped wet shaving, I calculated that my cost of wet shaving in one year was about £ 80. In this perspective, the electric shaver it does not appear as an expensive investment.
